Paint Protection Film Maintenance Tips

PPF Care & Maintenance

Daily/Weekly Care

  1. Washing:

    • Use a gentle, pH-balanced car wash soap.

    • Always use a microfiber wash mitt to avoid scratching the film.

    • Avoid automated car washes, especially those with abrasive brushes.

  2. Drying:

    • Use a clean microfiber towel or a touchless air dryer to dry your vehicle.

    • Avoid aggressive wiping or scrubbing during drying.

General Tips

  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Stay away from abrasive cleaners, petroleum-based products, or strong degreasers.

  • Pressure Washing: If you use a pressure washer, keep the nozzle at least 24 inches away from the film edges and avoid spraying directly at the edges to prevent lifting.

  • Bug Removal: Use a gentle bug remover and a microfiber towel to avoid damaging the film.

Long-Term Maintenance

  • Waxing: Avoid waxes with dyes or harsh chemicals. Opt for PPF-friendly spray waxes or ceramic spray sealants.

  • Check for Lifting: Periodically inspect film edges for lifting or bubbling and address issues promptly to avoid dirt buildup.

  • Annual Inspection: Schedule an annual inspection with our team to ensure your PPF is performing optimally.
